About this map

Continental Divide winds across the high ridges of this landscape, marking the boundary between vast watersheds within Yellowstone National Park. To the south, the Teton Wilderness and Teton National Forest expand the protected area, centered on the high elevations of Big Game Ridge and Chicken Ridge. Evidence of backcountry management is found at the Harebell Patrol Cabin, situated near the confluence of local drainages. Hydrothermal activity is present near the shores of Heart Lake, where Hot Springs and numerous Springs emerge along the Heart River. The area is navigated via a network of primitive routes, including the Heart Lake Trail, the Cutoff Trail, and the South Boundary Trail, providing access to peaks like Mount Hancock and Barlow Peak.
