Lookout Point Lake dominates the northern reaches of this mid-1980s landscape, serving as a focal point for recreation at Ivan Oakes County Park, which features a Boat Ramp and Picnic Area. The terrain transitions from the shoreline into the heavily timbered reaches of the Willamette National Forest and Umpqua National Forest. Elevations climb sharply toward prominent peaks such as Mt June, Hardesty Mtn, and Patterson Mountain, where the land is carved by numerous drainages including Goodman Creek and Herman Creek.
