Mt Lemmon towers over the high-elevation landscape of the Santa Catalina Mountains, anchoring a region of the Coronado National Forest defined by deep drainages and prominent peaks. The high-altitude community of Summerhaven sits at the head of West Fork Sabino Canyon, neighbored by Loma Linda and the technical infrastructure at Radio Ridge. This area is a critical junction for regional trekking, where the Arizona National Scenic Trail winds past landmarks like Marshall Saddle and Romero Pass. The terrain is punctuated by significant rock formations and narrow gorges, including Cathedral Rock, Window Rock, and Inspiration Rock. Dozens of vital water sources such as Lemmon Spring and Wild Cow Spring are documented throughout the ridges, supporting the varied ecosystems that span from Samaniego Peak down to the mouth of Ventana Canyon.
