Mt Prophet towers over a complex network of glacial drainages in this modern survey of the North Cascades wilderness. The landscape is defined by its deep creek valleys and prominent peaks, including Elephant Butte and Sourdough Mtn. Significant water bodies like Azure Lake and Sourdough Lake are fed by high-elevation runoff from systems such as Big Beaver Creek and Stetattle Creek. This area sits at the intersection of protected lands, spanning the boundary between North Cascades National Park and the Ross Lake National Recreation Area. The Pacific NW National Scenic Trail provides the primary human corridor through the terrain, winding past Luna Cr and McMillan Creek as it traverses the high ridges and valley floors.
