Oregon Belle Mine and the surrounding drainage of Oregon Belle Creek define the industrial and topographic character of this Jackson County landscape in the early 1980s. The area is heavily defined by its mining history, evidenced by Placer Tailings along the eastern drainages and a Borrow Pit near Miller Gulch. The terrain is a complex network of steep gulches and high points, including the prominent Mt Isabelle, Timber Mtn, and Baldy Mtn.
