1998 Map of Mumbo Basin

USGS Topo · Published 2003

About this map

The high ridge-lines of the Shasta-Trinity National Forest dominate this late-twentieth-century study of the California wilderness. Following the Pacific Crest National Scenic Trail as it winds through the eastern portion of the map, one encounters a series of high-altitude waters including Gumboot Lake, Upper Gumboot Lake, and Picayune Lake. This landscape is defined by the steep transition between Blue Divide and the Mumbo Basin below, where the headwaters of the East Fork Trinity River begin to gather.
