The southern portion of the map is dominated by the San Ignacio Del Babocomari grant, a vast historic land division through which the Southern Pacific railroad runs parallel to the Babocomari River. This transport corridor links the isolated cattle operations of the era, including the well-established Babocomari Ranch near the riverbanks.
