Nadine Butte rises as a prominent landmark in this high-desert landscape of Elko Co, situated near the three-way intersection of the Nevada, Idaho, and Oregon state borders. The topography is defined by the sweeping expanse of the Owyhee Desert in the southeast, contrasting with the level terrain of Cathcart Flat and Taylor Flat to the north. Drainage for this arid region is provided by the winding Willow Cr, which cuts through the northwest corner of the quadrangle. This 2015 survey captures a largely undeveloped stretch of the Great Basin, where the section lines of the Public Land Survey System divide the high plateaus and basins across several townships including t47n r43e and t47n r44e.
