Naomi Peak serves as the focal point of this high-elevation wilderness within the Cache National Forest. The landscape is defined by its glacial basins and mountain peaks, including the twin summits of Mt Gog and Mt Magog. This 2014 survey documents the hydrography of the northern Wasatch Range, where numerous small alpine lakes like High Creek Lake, Steam Mill Lake, and the well-known Tony Grove Lake provide the headwaters for local drainages. The terrain transition is marked by deep incisions such as Rocky Canyon and Bear Canyon, while old access routes like High Creek Rd and Franklin Basin Rd skirt the edges of these protected lands. The distribution of named springs, including Smith Spring and Coldwater Spring, underscores the critical role this watershed plays for the surrounding region.
