Sawgrass Slough and a network of isolated wetlands define this section of the Florida landscape along the border of Orange and Osceola Counties. The terrain is characterized by numerous small basins like Otter Pond, Islet Pond, and Savage Pond, interspersed with slow-moving drainages such as Bonnet Gully and the N Fork Taylor Cr. Settlement is sparse, focused primarily around Storey Bend near the intersection of Nova Rd and S Story Bend Rd.

Evidence of former industrial or logging activity is visible in the linear corridors of the Old Railroad Grade and Tram Rd, which cut through the wetlands and palmetto scrub. These features, along with Dallas Blvd and Gator Branch Rd, provide a structured grid over a largely hydrologic environment.
