Natzke Camp sits at the heart of this Lincoln County landscape, an area defined by the branching waterways of the New Wood River system. The topography is dominated by the New Wood Flowage and the convergence of several major tributaries, including the North Fork New Wood River and Center Fork New Wood River. This terrain represents a preserved stretch of Wisconsin woodland, notable for the passage of the Ice Age National Scenic Trail as it winds through the central portion of the quadrangle.
