The terrain is defined by a dense network of blackwater drainage systems, including the winding course of Conoho Cr and the expansive Etheridge Swamp in the northern reaches. These wetlands dictated the original settlement patterns, forcing early roads to navigate around the heads of Crisp Cr and Ross Swamp.
