The Ocqueoc River defines this portion of the northern tip of Michigan's Lower Peninsula, winding from Ocqueoc Lake through the heart of the landscape toward its mouth at Lake Huron. The terrain is marked by the unique geology of Ocqueoc Falls, a rare lower peninsula waterfall located near the Ocqueoc Falls State Forest Campground. Along the shoreline, small communities like Huron Beach, Bell Landing, and Hammond flank the coastal highway, while the inland settlement of Ocqueoc serves as a central point for the local road network.
