Arnett Cem sits on the western edge of this Dawson County landscape, a singular point of recorded heritage in a territory defined by high plains drainage. The land is dissected by numerous coulees and seasonal watercourses, most notably Stilson Coulee and the extensive Olson Coulee to the south. These geographic features, along with Corral Cr and Brush Cr, dictate the movement of early travel routes like Road 422 and Road 424. The Public Land Survey System grid divides the terrain into sections within Township 20 North and Township 19 North, reflecting the organized ranching and land-use patterns typical of Eastern Montana. This 2014 survey captures the persistence of rural infrastructure, where named roads and small cemeteries remain the primary landmarks across the expansive breaks and draws.
