The Big Sheep Mountains dominate the central topography of this Dawson County landscape, where the high prairie begins to break into a complex network of coulees and creek beds. The drainage pattern is well-defined by Sioux Cr and the many branches of Berry Cr, which carve through the elevations near High Point. This 2014 survey documents the rural character of eastern Montana, where traditional land divisions of the Public Land Survey System, such as t18n r50e, remain the primary framework for the territory.
