Oneida sits at the northern edge of this Kansas landscape, defined by a grid of rural roads and the drainage basins of several prominent local waterways. The settlement is anchored by Washington St and 4th St, serving as a central point for the surrounding agricultural sections in Nemaha County. Local history and genealogy are preserved at the Oneida Cem just west of the town center, and at the Ford Cem located further south near 130th Rd. The terrain is shaped by the wandering paths of Tennessee Cr, Wolfley Cr, and Muddy Cr, which carve through the land between major thoroughfares like Kelly Rd and 168th Rd. This 2018 survey provides a clear view of land divisions across several townships, including t2s r13e and t2s r14e, showing the modern continuity of the historic section line road system.
