The Otselic River winds through this rural landscape in northern Chenango County, anchoring a series of small, dispersed settlements including Otselic, Otselic Center, and Bonney. The geography is defined by high ridges like Texas Hill and Truman Hill, with narrow valley roads following the paths of Muller Brook and Middletown Brook. This topography dictated the early settlement patterns and the placement of community sites, such as Maple Grove Cem and Bonney Cem, which are situated on slightly elevated ground overlooking the watercourses. To the south, Stanbro and Beaver Meadow represent the persistent agricultural character of the region, where family names are still etched onto the land through landmarks like Cole Hill and its associated Cole Hill Cem. In the southwest corner, the presence of Perkins Pond and various brooks feeding the E Br Canasawacta Cr highlight the intricate drainage system of this upland territory.
