Oxford sits at the base of the Oxford Ridge, where the mountain landscape meets the agricultural flats of Marsh Valley. This Idaho landscape is defined by the sudden transition from high peaks, such as Oxford Peak, down through steep drainages like Rockslide Canyon and Gooseberry Cr into the wetlands of the Oxford Slough Waterfowl Production Area. The community of Swanlake anchors the northern portion of the slough, while the town of Oxford remains the primary settlement to the south, marked by the Oxford Cem.
