The high volcanic tablelands of the Markagunt Plateau dominate this landscape, centered on the high-elevation waters of Panguitch Lake. Located within the Dixie National Forest, the region is defined by a series of distinct valleys and mountain peaks, including Prince Mtn and Blue Spring Mtn. An intricate network of water sources, from the flowing Mammoth Cr to isolated features like Dead Lake and Mammoth Spring, highlights the complex hydrology of this part of southern Utah. The terrain is segmented by numerous recreational and resource tracks such as the Mud Springs ATV Trail and the Tommy Creek Loop. Traces of local land use appear in labels like Cameron Troughs near Miller Knoll, while the boundary between Iron Co and Garfield Co bisects the western reaches of the quadrangle.
