Panther Junction serves as the central focal point for this section of Big Bend National Park, marking the intersection where several primary park routes converge. The landscape is defined by dramatic elevation changes, characterized by prominent peaks and hidden desert water sources. High points such as Panther Peak, Wright Mountain, and Pummel Peak dominate the topography, while the southern portion of the quadrangle features the massive formations of Nugent Mtn and Crown Mtn.
