The Glass Mountains dominate the southwestern quadrant of this Pecos County landscape, where the elevation rises sharply from the surrounding high plains. This 2022 survey documents a series of critical drainage systems that carve through the arid terrain, including the prominent Monument Draw and Carlos Draw. These ephemeral waterways, or draws, define the local hydrology and movement patterns across the desert floor.
