The Continental Divide defines the high-altitude character of this portion of the Rabbit Ears Range, serving as the boundary between Jackson Co and Grand Co. Rising at the eastern edge, Parkview Mtn stands as a prominent landmark, overlooking the headwaters of numerous drainages that radiate from the divide. The landscape is split between the northern reaches of the Routt National Forest and the southern slopes within the Arapaho National Forest.
