Bad Land Cliffs dominate the northern horizon of this landscape where the Duchesne Co Carbon Co line cuts through a complex system of drainages. The most prominent water feature, Nine Mile Cr, flows through the central portion of the quadrangle, flanked by numerous steep-walled side canyons including North Maxie Canyon, South Maxie Canyon, and Pinnacle Canyon. The terrain transitions from these deep incisions to the broad, elevated plateau of Horse Bench in the southeast.
