Two Red Peaks Valley and Sliding Rocks Valley define the high desert topography of this region on the Navajo Reservation. The landscape is carved by significant ephemeral drainages, notably Oraibi Wash in the northwest and Wepo Wash to the southeast, which has shaped the adjacent Wepo Valley. These seasonal watercourses are supplemented by vital local water sources such as Lamb Spring, Cottonwood Spring, and Replacing Cover Spring, which have historically served as critical landmarks for navigation and survival in this arid environment.
