The Salish Mountains define the high country of Flathead County in this 2014 survey, where the peaks of Pleasant Valley Mtn and the transit point at Haskill Pass overlook a landscape of timber and water. Much of the terrain is managed as part of the Flathead National Forest, crisscrossed by a network of service roads such as Griffin Creek Rd and Nat For Dev Rd 5347.
