Poisel Butte dominates this landscape in the eastern reaches of Yakima County, rising as a prominent landform above the surrounding drainage basins. The area is defined by a network of seasonal watercourses and remote access roads, including Poisel Butte Rd and S Happy Rd. The presence of the Poisel Butte Spring provides a rare water source in this arid terrain, feeding into the complex topography that eventually leads to Mule Dry Cr. A series of Bureau of Indian Affairs routes, such as Bia RD 240 and Bia RD 19, traverse the townships, reflecting the region's management and infrastructure. The alignment of Yakima Chief Rd along the southern boundary indicates the transition toward more developed transit corridors in the lower valleys.
