Poston and the satellite settlement of Poston Two anchor this desert landscape along the border of Arizona and California. The area is defined by a rigid grid of agricultural roads and an extensive water management system that transformed this arid region. The Colorado River winds through the northwest corner, protected by a prominent Levee that separates the riparian corridor from the interior valley. The Main Canal and its associated laterals serve as the lifeblood for the surrounding fields, illustrating the heavy reliance on irrigation infrastructure in the Colorado River Indian Reservation.
