Tobacco Root Mountains dominate this 1980s landscape within the Beaverhead National Forest, revealing a high-altitude wilderness defined by glacial lakes and legacy mining activity. Significant elevations such as Potosi Peak and Branham Peaks overlook a network of alpine waters including Hollow Top Lake, Albro Lake, and the high-elevation Branham Lakes. The geological character of the region is punctuated by the presence of Potosi Hot Springs and Warm Springs along Willow Creek.

Evidence of historical prospecting is scattered throughout the drainages, notably at the Beulah Mine near Mill Creek and the New Deal Mine to the south. These sites, along with various marked adits and prospects, indicate the intense mineral interest that once drove exploration into these peaks. Water management is also visible through the Camp Creek Reservoir, supporting the downstream drainage systems of North Willow Creek and South Willow Creek.
