Powell Buttes dominate this landscape on the border of Crook Co and Deschutes Co, rising above a high desert terrain defined by volcanic formations and seasonal water sources. The map illustrates a transition from the rugged slopes of Hat Rock and the Rooster Comb down to the eastern canyonlands.
