Premont sits at the northeastern edge of this South Texas landscape, where the street grid of the town meets a vast network of rural county roads and farm-to-market routes. The terrain is defined by the winding paths of seasonal watercourses, most notably Los Olmos Cr, which meanders across the quadrangle, alongside Ramada del Toro Cr and Cibolo Cr. These drainages dictate the ranching and agricultural patterns of Jim Wells, Duval, and Brooks counties, which all meet within this sheet. Near the southern edge, the small settlement of La Gloria marks a junction point along the primary north-south highway. The presence of Weeks Airport north of the main settlement suggests the importance of aerial access for the expansive ranching operations and remote properties that characterize this part of the Rio Grande Plain.
