Preston Mesa rises sharply in the northern portion of this Coconino County landscape, where the terrain transitions into a series of broad plateaus and points. In the southern reaches, the land is anchored by White Point, a distinct topographic landmark overlooking the surveyed townships. This high-desert environment is traversed by a network of rural roads managed by the Bureau of Indian Affairs, including Indian Rte 6231 and its associated loop, Indian Rte 6231 Lp.
