The ghost town of Terrace (Site) and the historic corridor of the Central Pacific railroad dominate this remote corner of Box Elder County during the early 1970s. Located along an Old Grade, the former settlement is marked by the Terrace Cem and a nearby Terrace Well, offering a stark look at the remnants of nineteenth-century transcontinental rail infrastructure. The landscape is defined by its arid, challenging geography, featuring extensive Alkali Flats, The Hardpan, and shifting Sand Dunes that have reclaimed much of the territory.

Water sources are scarce but vital to the area's history, represented by Prohibition Spring, Rosebud Spring, and the Muddy Creek Reservoir. Human activity remains tied to land management and ranching, evidenced by the Rosebud BLM Field Sta and the Rosebud Ranch. Numerous jeep trails wind through the sagebrush and sand, connecting isolated landmarks like the Rest Area and a lone Gravel Pit in this high-desert environment.
