Pueblo Viejo Mesa and the surrounding high desert plateaus define this region along the border of Socorro and Cibola counties. The landscape is characterized by a network of deep drainages and canyons, including Cañon de la Mosca and Cañon de la Ternera, which cut through the high elevations of Victorino Mesa and Tres Hermanos Mesa. Water is a scarce and vital resource in this arid terrain, marked by sparse points such as Victorino Spring, Lagnuna Del Oro, and ephemeral flows like Gallegos Cr and Waterbury Draw. Human presence is mapped through a handful of transit corridors including Red Lake Rd and Merch Rd, providing access across the rugged mesas and to ranching features like Foothill Tank.
