Quinn Peak and the high ridges of the Sierra Nevada dominate this 2015 survey of the southern High Sierra. The boundary between Sequoia National Park and Sequoia National Forest cuts across the landscape, marking a transition between managed wilderness and protected parkland. This area is defined by its dramatic hydrography, where the headwaters of the Little Kern River and the S Fork Kaweah River originate from alpine catchments. High-altitude basins contain numerous water bodies including Blossom Lakes, Twin Lakes, and Maggie Lakes. The map captures the complex terrain around the Great Western Divide, illustrating a network of meadows such as Wet Meadows and Lion Meadows that serve as essential breaks in the steep, rocky environment near Maggie Mtn and Sheep Mtn.
