West Rabbit Mountain and East Rabbit Mountain stand as the primary landmarks in this portion of Niobrara County, anchoring a terrain defined by its complex drainage network. In the southern half of the quadrangle, Bonsell Cr and Rusty Cr flow eastward through open land, eventually leading toward Young Woman Cr in the southeast corner. The northern landscape is shaped by the winding path of Lance Cr and the multiple branches of Buck Cr, including the E Fork Buck Cr. This 2012 survey illustrates the modern ranching and rural infrastructure of the region, where long-established routes like Meridian Rd and Ridge Rd provide the primary access across the high plains. Between these roads, minor peaks such as White Hill break the horizon, marking a traditional cattle-country landscape that remains largely open and undeveloped.
