1964 Map of Ranchos De Taos

USGS Topo · Published 1967

About this map

Ranchos De Taos and the neighboring settlements of Llano Quemado and Talpa sit at the edge of the high mountain terrain, defined by a complex network of traditional water management systems including the Acequia Madre del Rio Chiquito, Acequia de la Loma, and Acequia del Llano. These irrigation ditches represent the agricultural heritage of the Cristoval de la Serna Grant and Fernando de Taos Grant.
