Raymond sits at the southern edge of this Sheridan County landscape, where the agricultural grid meets a series of glacial depressions and drainage features near the Canadian border. The terrain is characterized by large wetlands such as Mattson Slough, Lochin Slough, and Syme Slough, which provide distinct breaks in the section lines. These water bodies, along with the headwaters of McCoy Cr, illustrate the hydrology of the High Plains before it rises toward the Outlook Bench.
