Red Bird serves as the primary settlement on this landscape, organized around a traditional grid of streets including W Boston Ave and Main St. The terrain is defined by the winding course of the Verdigris River, which creates the prominent Horseshoe Bend in the northern portion of the quadrangle. Several smaller tributaries, such as Fife Cr, Gar Cr, and Strawberry Cr, drain the surrounding rural acreage, which is partitioned by a dense network of sectional roads. Local genealogy is well-supported by numerous burial sites scattered throughout the area, including Hawkins Cem near the river and Greenwood Cem to the south. Transportation is dominated by the Muskogee Turnpike, which cuts diagonally across the center, complemented by the Jantzen Airport situated north of the main township.
