Kootenai National Forest defines the character of this northwestern Montana landscape, where the Purcell Mountains rise sharply toward the Canadian border. The drainage network is complex, dominated by the various branches of Dodge Creek, including North Fork Dodge Creek and Middle Fork Dodge Creek. A network of forest development roads, such as Natl Forest Develop Road 303 Rd, provides access through the timbered slopes to high points like Marias Mtn and Clingback Mtn.
