Red Rock Knoll and the surrounding terrain define this part of the Escalante Desert in Millard County. The landscape is marked by significant topographical shifts, ranging from the elevation of the Red Hills and Black Rock Pass to the low-lying Beaver Bottoms along the eastern edge. Water management in this arid region is evidenced by the Red Rock Number 1 Reservoir and Red Rock Number 2 Reservoir, which catch seasonal runoff. The Beaver River winds through the eastern sections, providing a critical geographic anchor for the various washes and valleys, such as Cedar Wash and Shorts Valley, that segment the desert floor. This 2017 survey details the complex drainage patterns and land divisions of the Public Land Survey System, including T24S R11W and T25S R10W.
