The North Fork Teanaway River defines the western drainage of this landscape, where the settlement of Ryepatch and sites like Twentynine Pines Campground are situated along the valley floor. To the east, the topography rises sharply toward Teanaway Ridge, anchored by the high point at Red Top Mountain. This area is characterized by a high concentration of recreational and observation points, including the Red Top Mountain Lookout and the Stafford Lookout further north.
