Olmos and a sequence of traditional riverfront settlements line the northern bank of the Rio Grande in this southern Texas borderland. The landscape is defined by the winding river and a series of numbered land tracts, such as Casa Banco Number 90 and Yzaguirre Banco Number 58, which reflect the unique cadastral history of the region. Dense residential pockets are clustered near the eastern edge, including Santa Cruz, Las Lomas, and El Refugio.

A network of local roads and streets like E Juarez Blvd and Santa Rosa Rd connects these communities, while the Olmos Cem serves as a central genealogical landmark for the area. The drainage of Los Olmos Cr cuts through the northern terrain, meeting the river near Los Velas. This survey captures the transition from open riverfront plots to the more structured street grids of established neighborhoods just south of Rio Grande City.
