Eagleport and the Muskingum River corridor define the geography of this eastern Ohio landscape. The river, a critical artery for transport and industry, is punctuated here by the Muskingum River Lock and Dam Number 7 at Rokeby Lock. This hydraulic infrastructure supported early navigation and reflects the managed waterways of Morgan County. Away from the river, the terrain rises into ridges such as Poplar Ridge and the Green Knobs, where small agricultural and rural settlements took root.
