The White River flows through the central portion of this Colorado landscape, carving a valley between the high elevations of Coal Ridge to the north and Blair Mesa to the south. This 2022 survey captures the drainage patterns of Rio Blanco Co, where numerous gulches and creeks feed the primary waterway. To the north, the county boundary with Moffat Co follows a high line above the headwaters of Wolf Cr and Coal Cr.
