Royal Palm Hammock serves as the gateway to this intricate network of mangrove islands and tidal waterways within the Ten Thousand Islands region. The landscape is defined by the transition from the upland pinelands and hammocks down into the vast estuarine systems of Blackwater Bay and Pumpkin Bay. Infrastructure is concentrated along the northern edge of the sheet, where Tamiami Trl E provides the primary transit corridor alongside the Tamiami Canal Number G-4.
