Sierra Blanca anchors the high northwestern corner of this study, overlooking a complex landscape of canyon-riven ridges and emerging mountain communities. The village of Ruidoso serves as the central hub, with residential growth extending into Alpine Cellars Village and Ponderosa Heights. The transit corridor follows Sudderth Drive and US Hwy 70 through Hollywood toward Ruidoso Downs, while the southern reaches of the quadrangle transition into the Lincoln National Forest and the Mescalero Apache Reservation area around Carrizo.
