Ruskosky Ridge rises as a prominent landmark in this segment of eastern Montana, straddling the boundary between Rosebud and Treasure Counties. The landscape is defined by a complex network of drainages including Stove Coulee, Sand Coulee, and Bone Coulee, which carve through the high plains toward Muggins Cr. The high, level ground of Muggins Taylor Flat provides a contrast to the dissected terrain of Dry Gulch to the south.
