The eastern edges of Ruston and the neighboring village of Choudrant anchor this topographic view of north-central Louisiana. The landscape is defined by the dendritic drainage of Choudrant Creek and its many tributaries, such as Sixteen Branch and Bedell Branch, which cut through the varied elevations of Lincoln Parish. The settlement pattern is largely rural, characterized by scattered homes along a network of parish roads and the concentrated developments near the Ruston Regional Airport.
