The high desert landscape of central Utah is defined here by the convergence of the Sheeprock Mountains and the West Tintic Mountains. This 1998 revision by the USDA Forest Service documents a region of sparse water and scattered industrial activity, straddling the Tooele and Juab County line. The hydrology is centered on seasonal drainages like Sabie Creek and Devil Creek, which are supported by numerous named water sources including Boulter Springs and Powell Spring.
