Sheep Mountain dominates the northern landscape of this northwestern Utah terrain, which is defined by the stark expanse of the Great Salt Lake Desert. The eastern edge of the quadrangle is marked by the rising slopes of the Hogup Mountains, while the central and western reaches are characterized by extensive areas of Mud flats. This 1991 survey, compiled from aerial photography, shows an almost entirely unpopulated region with virtually no man-made infrastructure apart from a single 4wd track in the northeast corner. The map provides a precise record of the shoreline and elevation contours where the mountain foothills meet the desert floor, offering an essential reference for understanding the hydrology and topography of this isolated portion of Box Elder County.
